More cool news on the Wordbay development front. Finally Wordbay is to get its own widget! You can see a working version below the banner ads in the right-hand sidebar. The Wordbay listings widget will appear in the list of available widgets in the appropriate section of your WordPress admin panel. If you have a widgetised WordPress theme (which you should have if possible) then you can drag the Wordbay widget into the position you want it and then just set a few parameters – the only required parameter is the keywords, all the other settings will fall back on the global ones, but you will be able to set minimum/maximum price and minimum bids, and maybe a couple more that make sense.
This widget will then appear on all pages where that widget position is enabled. I may add something to exclude certain pages etc. You don’t REALLY want it on your privacy policy etc. But for now this widget will appear site-wide and will be exactly the same on all pages, which is kind of the point.
As you can see I have simplified the template somewhat so it doesn’t clutter the sidebar. I may tweak that a little more and I also need to create a horizontal template – this one only works in single-column vertical widget positions.
Anyway, this is not available yet, but I just wanted to whet your appetite – look out for this soon!

Great stuff mark, keep up the good work!
Thanks Tony! BTW, congratulations, you are the first to comment on the blog – I finally decided to open up comments. We’ll see if that was a good idea soon enough

Ooooh I can’t wait. I haven’t gotten around to installing the last version yet.
Angela, you should upgrade at the very latest when your blog implodes and stops working
I know, I don’t exactly go round upgrading my blogs every day, especially as you cannot auto-upgrade Wordbay… Sure you’ll get round to it
can’t wait for widget version released
Do we have a rough ETA on the widget
Im keen to impliment it on my site.
Hi, good question – my little injury slowed me down a bit regarding Wordbay’s development, but the good news is I have been testing the widget for weeks now and it seems to be working great. So hopefully when I finish another project of mine on Monday I can release this new version. Sorry for the delay!
